Lola’s Cantina & Snacks
An on-brand website with llama charm, and a fun digital prize wheel that registers a memorable moment.
The challenge
Lola’s Cantina & Snacks is a new spot in Oak Cliff, the boozy sequel to the owners’ longtime snack shop. The name already had fans. What it needed was a home online where those fans, and everyone else, could see the menu, check the hours and get a feel for the place before walking in.
Instagram was carrying all of it, and Instagram is built for people who already follow you. The owners wanted a way to reach new customers, and a way to stay in touch with the ones already at the counter.
What we built
Two pieces, built to work together: a website for anyone looking up Lola’s, and a prize wheel at the register for anyone already there.
The website
The website is where people land when they search for Lola’s, and it brings the cantina with it: carnation-topped margaritas, elote in a cup, and Lola the Llama holding a cold one, with the menu and the hours a tap away. Nobody reads it and stays home.
The promo at the register
The promo at the register is a sign by the counter with a QR code. A customer scans it, spins a prize wheel once, and gets a redeem card to show the staff. Every spin also adds a customer to the text list, so the owners can share specials with the people who already love the place.
What changed
Now Lola’s shows up when people in the neighborhood search for it, with the menu and hours right there, and its Google Business listing carries the same details straight into the results. At the register, the wheel gives customers a little extra fun and gives the owners a growing text list that is theirs to keep.
We designed and built both the website and the register promo.

How the wheel works
A sign at the register, a QR code to scan, and one spin.
- Scan the QR code on the sign at the register.
- Tap to spin.
- Enter a phone number. Getting texts about specials is something you choose, and the spin happens either way.
- The wheel spins and lands on a prize.
- Show the redeem card to the staff to claim it.
- One spin per phone number, per day.
